Vacaciones

The term is over.  My contract is officially up for the year, so I'm going on vacation.  My family is coming into Madrid tomorrow, and we're starting our tour around Europe.  The itinerary looks something like this.

Madrid to Murcia; Murcia to Barcelona; from Barcelona a cruise that goes to Cannes, Toulon, Florence, Pisa, Rome, and Naples--the back to Barcelona.  From Barcelona to Venice.  Venice to some small undecided village in Germany, and Germany to Zurich and Lucerne.

I hope both me and my camera survive.

Hasta agosto.

Sigh--sounds fabulous! Post pictures here or on FB when you get a chance. And say hi to that Rachael Horst if you see her while you're in Germany.

Buen viaje! Bon voyage! Sichere Fahrt! (Everything sounds funnier in German, doesn't it?)

thanks for your interesting blog. Can you tell me what the likelihood of teaching English is under the present economic/unemployment conditions? I am non EU, with TEFL and Arts Degree, Education Diploma - mature age. Which areas best for English teaching opportunities?
thanks,
Lyn

I really enjoy your blog and writing style. I am part of a development team for a new blog site that is recruiting blog contributors. The idea is very unique and was created to make a positive difference in the world. We would love to have you as one of our contributors. I can send you full details explaining thoroughly what the concept for the site actually is. My e-mail is zach@unitedworldproject.com. Hope to hear from you!

(Sorry for these late responses everyone):

Rosemary- haha. I love the German. I love all of the "fahrt"s throughout the country. Rachael was actually in the States while I was in Garmisch. But we did meet up. My camera was broken, but Paige the photographer had hers up, so I'll ask her to post some on Facebook.

Lyn- I DEFINITELY think there's an option for you. Many Spanish cities are in dire need of native English speakers, especially for those with teaching experience. Check out CIEE and other TEFL programs. There are also many language schools and language centers such as Fluency. Additionally, the Spanish government posts teaching opportunities, and they sponsor native teachers to come over and teach temporarily. Check out this website: http://www.educacion.gob.es/exterior/usa/en/programs/us_assistants/default.shtml

Also, keep an eye on my site in about a month. I'm going to revamp it so that it's more of an advice blog for people wanting to move and teach in Spain!
